    Hi,

Are you cakes and cupcakes safe for someone with a peanut/tree nut allergy to eat?

    Thanks!
    Carol

I have a favorite place in Arlington to get a wonderful lemon cake, but I’ve always hoped to find one in Maryland. How do you make yours, what size is it, and how much do you charge for it? Looking forward to checking out your bakery; sounds great.

      Hi,

We do have lemon items including cakes, cupcakes and tarts made with a curd from fresh squeezed lemons. Cost of cakes depend upon the size and I would love for you to stop by and taste one of our lemon items.
Thanks for thinking of Shortcake Bakery.

I stopped in yesterday for the first time and bought several items to taste and I am so glad I stopped in. Everything was delicious–pineapple turnover, guava and cream cheese turnover, spanikopia, chocolate chip cookie and an oatmeal raisin cookie. Excellent! I’ll be back. The coffeee was delicious also.

I stopped in on Saturday afternoon and bought a variety of items. My family loved the vanilla cupcakes and the meat patties. Will you be preparing specials for Easter?

Thank you so much Sharon! We’re so glad you enjoyed the food. We’ll have our usual items this weekend.

I stopped in on Friday, 2 Aug to buy my son a treat so he could have after breaking our Ramadhan fast. Naturally my nafs (lower desires) took hold, though I’m “supposed” to be starving them into submission this month. Well, when I saw the “death by chocolate” brownie, the lovely “lb” cake, and the guava turnovers, I thought a little treat wouldn’t hurt the 3 of us fervent fasters (son, hubby and me). IT WAS A DELIGHT! SO much so that I have to tell everyone I know. Get the brownie, warm it in the oven (not the microwave), and have that with your best beverage (mine was a nice cafe latte). I’ll reminisce over that dessert for a while. We hadn’t had a tasty guava pastry since our trip to San Juan, PR nearly 2 yrs ago. My hubby was impressed (and he’s NOT a sweet eater). Well, the boy liked EVERYTHING! So much so, that he’s going to spend his OWN money for a brownie next trip. o_O That’s got to be the BEST endorsement EVER…a teen spending his own $ for food??!!! And best wishes to the young grad student who was nonjudgmental (at least on the surface) as I over indulged.

Would you provide a more detailed list of the items you offer (i.e. what kind of pies do you make).

    • December 21, 2013 2:48 pm

      Thanks Kathleen,

We make Sweet Potato, Pecan, Apple, and Pumpkin Pies. Everything is baked fresh so the availability of the pies depends on what time you’re planning on stopping by. Thanks
